  2. June 2024 – August 2024
Software Engineer Intern @ New York Life @ New York City, New York, US
    NYL
    Technical Experience:
I worked in the Lead Management value stream within the Marketing department. During my internship, I had two primary areas of focus: the team's work and the intern project.
For the team's work, I attended daily standup meetings to update the big team on our progress. I frequently communicated with my manager to develop proof-of-concept applications aimed at enhancing the team's web services. Additionally, I was responsible for resolving various issues and tickets, including fixing APIs and streamlining data flow.
For the intern project, I collaborated with four other teammates to develop a chatbot. As the Web Developer on the team, I was responsible for the front-end development and also contributed to the back-end work to ensure streamlined APIs. We held standup meetings three times a week, adhering to Agile methodology.
    • Developed a proof-of-concept application in ASP.NET and C# to integrate USPS API with Oracle database, optimizing address analysis for precise location data and enhancing operational efficiency.
    • Implemented a robust Python profanity filter to censor sensitive data inputs to comply with company standards.
    • Collaborated with a team of four interns, incorporating scaled Agile methodology to design a full-stack React.js-based chatbot powered by a Large Language Model, reducing operation cost by 92.61%.
    • Implemented AWS Lambda functions for backend processing, utilizing DynamoDB for data storage and AWS S3 for deployment, enhancing service automation capabilities for the company.

  3. May 2023 – November 2023
Software Engineer Co-op @ Kinetic Vision @ Cincinnati, Ohio, US
    KV
    Technical Experience:
I collaborated with other peers to work on a client's project. We conducted weekly standup meetings to align our efforts and discuss progress. We leveraged BitBucket and Jira to managing our workflows and tasks, fostering a cohesive working environment. Open communication was encouraged - whenever challenges arose, we would promptly address them through discussion and calls, ensuring smooth and efficient project progression.
    • Developed the main pages of a website, leveraging Next.js and TypeScript, integrating UI components with Ant Design and Tailwind CSS, which resulted in an intuitive and user-friendly interface.
    • Engineered efficient GraphQL APIs with Apollo and Keystone.js, enhancing data querying and UX.
    • Utilized OIDC and Google APIs to enable single sign-on (SSO) functionality for over 200 users, ensuring secure user authentication and authorization.
    • The project was successfully deployed into its first production release at the end of the internship.

  4. January 2023 – May 2023
Software Developer @ Information Technology Solutions Center - University of Cincinnati @ Cincinnati, Ohio, US
    ITSC
    Technical Experience:
I worked on a client's project with my team that consisted of multiple moving parts, such as software developers, IT supports, etc., and we all worked under the guidance of a supportive mentor. I was in charge of maintaining and fixing some bugs along the way. We conducted semi-weekly scrum meetings. In our small but agile team, I enjoyed the advantage of close collaboration and direct communication. This not only expedited problem-solving but also facilitated personal learning and professional growth.
    • Developed a virtual veterinary station for cats using React.js, featuring forms and tables for data management.
    • Built a robust server using Node.js and Express, integrating Axios and Sequelize to connect to a PostgreSQL database.
    • Implemented a versatile multiplatform error-handler, optimizing user experience for client projects.
